Hello Friend respects intellectual property rights and expects users to do the same. This policy explains how rights holders can report infringement and how users can respond.
1. What Is Not Allowed
Uploading, streaming or sharing content you do not own or have permission to use, including movies, TV shows, music, sports broadcasts, books, software, games, photos, artwork and videos made by others; selling counterfeit goods; and using another's trademark in a way that is likely to confuse people about the source or sponsorship.
2. How to Report Copyright Infringement
Send a written notice to grievance@hellofriend.in including:
- Your full name, address, phone number and email;
- A description of the copyrighted work, and proof of ownership or authorisation to act for the owner;
- The exact URL(s) of the infringing content on the Services;
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the owner, its agent or the law;
- A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act on the owner's behalf;
- Your physical or electronic signature.
For complaints under Indian law, we act in line with Section 52(1)(c) of the Copyright Act, 1957 and Rule 75 of the Copyright Rules, 2013: on receiving a valid notice we will disable access to the content within 36 hours, and if the complainant does not provide a court order within 21 days, we may restore access. For complaints from the United States, we also accept notices that meet the requirements of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. 512(c)(3).
3. Counter-Notice
If your content was removed by mistake or you have permission to use it, you may send a counter-notice to grievance@hellofriend.in with your contact details, identification of the removed content, a statement under good faith that it was removed by mistake or misidentification, and your signature. We may forward the counter-notice to the complainant and restore the content unless they inform us that they have started legal proceedings.
4. Trademark Complaints
Trademark owners can report misuse of their mark (for example, impersonating usernames or counterfeit listings) at grievance@hellofriend.in with registration details, the URLs concerned and an explanation of the confusion caused.
5. Repeat Infringers
Accounts that receive repeated valid infringement complaints will have content removed, features restricted and, in appropriate cases, will be permanently terminated.
6. False Claims
Knowingly submitting false or misleading notices or counter-notices may lead to legal liability and the suspension of your account.
